A perfect little project you can make using leftover yarn!

YARN

Any Mohair or Brushed Alpaca yarn with a gauge of 15 sts = 10 cm

SIZE

Onesize

MEASUREMENTS

Diameter 15 cm

YARN REQUIREMENTS

Approx. 20 g 

GUAGE

15 sts = 10 cm on 5 mm needles

NEEDLES
40 cm circular needle, 5 mm

ABBREVIATIONS

k = knit
p = purl
st(s) = stitch(es)
rnd = round

Cast on 75 sts with Color 1 on a small 5 mm circular needle. Place a marker for the beginning of the round. 

*Work 5 rounds in Color 1. Change to Color 2 and work 2 rounds in the new color**. 

Repeat from * to ** 2 more times. The scrunchie should now measure approx. 10 cm in height. Work 1 round in Color 1, then bind off with Color 1. Cut the yarn, leaving a long tail for sewing the scrunchie together.

 

Weave in all ends. Sew the scrunchie together using kitchener stitch, with the elastic placed on the inside. Use an elastic with a diameter of approx. 4–4.5 cm

Thread the needle through a stitch from the top side and then down through a stitch from the bottom. The needle should go through both strands of the stitch.
