We are three Art and Craft teacher students, who share the same passion for making things ourselves. Our goal is to inspire you to discover the joy and value of handcrafting. We want to promote ethical fashion and we love creating quality products that are made with love. Explore our patterns and be inspired to create something new and unique with your own hands.
About Sjøllaget
Sjøllaget was formed in January 2024. One winter day in practicum, we sat with our knitting and crochet wips and talked about how much we love making things ourselves. Just for fun, we created an Instagram account called SJØLLAGET. We started making our own patterns for garments we had made freehand, and posted pictures and videos of knitting, crocheting and sewing. We wanted to share the joy we feel when we create something ourselves!
In a world of mass production and high consumption of clothes and goods, we want to lift a vision that sees the value of handmade things that are of good quality and that have been made with love. Our little Instagram user has now become a knitting and crocheting business. By creating simple and understandable patterns, we hope to make needlework motivating and inspiring. There is nothing that makes us happier than spreading the joy of creation. Being creative is not just a trait that you are born with or not, but is something you choose to be and something that you have to practice like everything else. Anyone who wants to can learn to knit or crochet, and everyone has the ability to create something completely unique.
