Crocheted Beanie
This is the perfect beginner project!
The beanie is easy to crochet if you’re looking to learn something new, and a quick project for more experienced makers who want to use up leftover yarn <3

YARN
Scrap yarn
You can use anything from 100% wool to mohair or alpaca.
Our favorite yarn combination:
Luna Lamull held together with a mohair strand
YARN REQUIREMENTS
Total: 50–60 grams
CROCHET HOOK
4.5 mm – 5 mm (depending on the yarn you use)
GAUGE
Approx. 13–14 double crochets across the width
MEASUREMENTS
Diameter: approx. 28 cm,
measured at the lower edge when the beanie is folded flat
Length: approx. 20 cm
CONSTRUCTION
The beanie is crocheted in the round using double crochet stitches.
It can be made either in a single color or with stripes.
For the striped version:
Change color every other round.
PATTERN
Round 1: Crochet 12 double crochets (dc) into a magic ring
Round 2: Crochet 2 dc in each stitch = 24 sts
Round 3: Crochet 1 dc, 2 dc in next stitch, repeat around
Round 4: Crochet 2 dc, 2 dc in next stitch, repeat around
Round 5: Crochet 3 dc, 2 dc in next stitch, repeat around
Round 6: Crochet 4 dc, 2 dc in next stitch, repeat around
Round 7: Continue crocheting 1 dc in each stitch in the round until the beanie measures 20 cm, or desired length
Cut the yarn and neatly weave in all loose ends on the inside of the beanie.
For an extra fluffy look, gently brush the beanie with a mohair brush.
Your beanie is now finished and ready to wear! 🤍
