The sweater is knitted from the bottom up. The body and sleeves can be knitted to the length you desire. For the women's model, the body and sleeves have a straight shape, while the men's model has a more fitted shape with tighter ribbing. You can of course adjust the shape as you like. The neckline can be knitted as either a low or high neck.
